Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how To Sleep Stories (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information when you visit www.tosleepstories.com and related pages (the “Site”). We are committed to handling personal data responsibly, especially because our audience includes families with children.
1. Who we are
To Sleep Stories publishes calm bedtime stories for kids and families. The Site is operated for that purpose. For privacy questions or requests, contact us at hello@tosleepstories.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you send us. If you email us or otherwise contact us voluntarily, we receive the information you choose to provide (for example, your email address, name, and message content) so we can respond.
Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically process limited technical data when you load the Site, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and the date and time of your visit. We use this only to deliver and secure the Site, not to build advertising profiles on our own pages.
What we do not ask children to provide. The Site does not offer child account registration, newsletters sign-up aimed at children, or forms for children to submit personal details. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country) through the Site.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We use Microsoft Clarity on the Site to understand how visitors use our pages (for example, page views and general interaction patterns). Clarity may use cookies or similar technologies for this purpose. See Microsoft’s privacy statement for more information.
Other third-party content may also set cookies when you interact with it:
- Embedded YouTube videos may set cookies or use similar technologies when you play or interact with a video, subject to Google’s privacy policy.
- Links to Amazon take you to Amazon’s website, which has its own cookies and privacy practices under Amazon’s privacy notice.
- Your browser may store standard technical data (such as cache) needed to load pages.
You can limit cookies through your browser settings and, where available, through YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embedding options we may use on the Site.
4. How we use information
We use information only as needed to:
- operate, maintain, and improve the Site (including understanding visitor traffic and how pages are used);
- reply to your enquiries;
- protect the Site against abuse, fraud, or security issues; and
- comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Legal bases (EEA, UK, and similar regions)
If data protection law in your region requires a “legal basis”, we rely on:
- Legitimate interests to run and secure the Site and communicate with you about your enquiry, balanced against your rights;
- Consent where you have clearly agreed (for example, optional cookies or marketing if we ever offer them and you opt in); and
- Legal obligation where we must retain or disclose information by law.
6. How long we keep information
We keep contact emails only as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping, unless a longer period is required by law. Hosting logs are kept for a limited time according to our host’s standard retention.
7. Sharing with others
We do not sell personal information. We may share information only with:
- service providers who help us host or operate the Site (under confidentiality and data-processing terms where required);
- third-party platforms you choose to use via links or embeds (such as YouTube and Amazon), under their own policies; and
- authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
8. International visitors
Visitors may access the Site from different countries. Information may be processed in locations where our hosting or service providers operate. Where required, we take steps appropriate to protect information in line with this Policy.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
To exercise these rights, email hello@tosleepstories.com. We may need to verify your request. Parents or guardians may contact us regarding a child’s information if they believe we have received it in error.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to a small public website. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Significant changes may be highlighted on the Site where practical.
